About

Hi, I'mMaxey.

I'm a model, stylist, business owner, and mom of two. I've spent most of my life working in fashion, but these days I'm just as interested in the life happening around the outfits. I share a little bit of everything here, with the hope that you'll leave feeling good about yourself.

A torn-paper collage of Maxey in eight different outfits, several of them mirror selfies, among them a red poppy-print dress, a blue striped dress, a denim jacket with navy trousers, a striped tee with white jeans, a patterned maxi dress by the water with a bridge behind her, and a gray hoodie with shorts. Floral paintings and a yellow platform clog fill the gaps.

I have a lot of opinions about clothing and apparently a lot of other things, too.

My story

From a mall model search to fifteen-plus years in fashion.

I started modeling at seventeen after my mom convinced me to enter a Torrid and Seventeen model search at the mall. I won, which was pretty exciting for a teenager from New Jersey. Fifteen-plus years later, I've built a career around fashion, personal style, and helping women feel good in their clothes. Somewhere along the way I also got married, had two kids, and started a couple of businesses.

How I dress

Comfort is non-negotiable.

Old clothes are often the best clothes.

What I'm building

A couple of businesses, too.

Frequently asked questions

You asked.

What size are you?

I'm typically a size 18w or 2x, but sizing is all over the place (that's why I'm here to help) so I always check the measurements. I'm just under 5'8", with a 47" waist, 55" hips, and size 10 feet.

How did you start modeling?

My mom made me enter a Torrid and Seventeen model search at the Garden State Plaza when I was seventeen. I won. Moms really do know everything sometimes.

Where should I shop in NYC?

I'm a big believer in shopping secondhand, especially for pieces with a little personality. For plus size shopping, Universal Standard, Eloquii, and Plus BKLYN are all worth checking out. I also love a good department store treasure hunt.

Do you use affiliate links?

Yes! Some of the things I share are linked through ShopMy, which means I may earn a commission if you buy something. You pay the same price, and I get to keep doing this for a living.

Who takes your photos?

Usually my husband, Daniel, who is an actual professional photographer. Otherwise, whoever happens to be standing nearby and is willing to take 47 shots of me.

How do you choose brand partners?

I have to actually like the product. That's really the whole thing. It should make sense for my life, my style, and the women who trust my recommendations. If I wouldn't tell a friend about it, I'm probably not going to tell you about it.
